We are ready to blow cellulose insulation into the six inch walls with an R value of 19.  The walls will be tight and keep the house warm and cool.  Concrete siding is also being installed. Thankful for the many volunteer groups that have brought the build to this point.

7 S. Rural St.

This house is located at 7 S. Rural Street.

401 West First Ave.

Designed for a physically handicapped couple, it was built on a slab rather than a crawl space and steps, with extra wide doors with handles, etc.

315 Market St.

This house was built with 2 X 6 studs and energy efficient features. Bill Hanlon with Flint Hills Technical College, our licensed contractor, helped install special insulation, design, steel shingles, and cement/wood siding.

328 Homewood St.

322 Homewood St.

Five Emporia contractors cooperated to blitz build this house in one day – completely enclosed with siding and shingles.

323 Weaver St.

Max Burnham and members of the Lamont Apostolic Christian Church did a blitz build and had this house roofed and enclosed in three days. The Habitat Bicycle Challenge group, who were riding coast to coast to raise funds for Habitat, helped for one day on this house.
