Habitat for Humanity International

Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, ecumencial Christian housing ministry.  Habitat for Humanity International seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action.

Habitat International is currently building in some 3,000 locations in more than 90 countries. A house is being built somewhere in the world every 26 minutes for over 20,000 houses per year.  An original goal of the founders, Millard and Linda Fuller, was to build 100,000 houses. That has been surpassed with nearly 300,000 houses built.

Along the way, Jimmy Carter and Rosalyn became strong supporters and volunteers for Habitat.  The have led the Jimmy Carter Work Projects around the world annually since 1984.
